Wedding in Lavin
Dear Guest,
Sipping espresso on the terrace of Piz Linard, the warm autumn sun on the face, we realised this is the place to bring together friends and family to celebrate our wedding.
At 1430 meters above sea level, this charming village with its Italian touch really stands out, and the spirit and great hospitality of the hotel immediately made us feel right at home.

Saturday
2pm
Check-in at the reception of the hotel Piz Linard. A room has been reserved (see below regarding payment) for you either in the hotel, or close by in the village. You'll get more precise information on arrival.
3pm
When everyone is settled in, we welcome you to join us at the entrance of the wild garden, vis-à-vis the hotel. As most of you will have covered quite some distance to get to Lavin, there'll be a rich aperitif to restore your energy. Drinks in hand we'll then move on to a small ceremony. Afterward you're free to stay for more drinks in the garden, wander around and discover the village or have a little nap.
7.30pm
Starting with the dinner in the dining room of the hotel and ending with a last drink or dance, the real celebrations will carry us all well into the Sunday morning.
Sunday
9-11am
Brunch in the dining room of the hotel.
Unless you're in a hurry to get back home after the brunch, we warmly invite you to join us for a little walk in the charming surrounding area. Hiking boots and survival gear optional.
GETTING THERE by plane/train
The closest international airport is Zurich. From there you can rent a car, although we'd recommend taking the train to Zürich HB, and from there on to Lavin.
There are hourly connections with one change (Landquart). The whole ride takes around 2hrs and 20min. Hotel Piz Linard is about a 10-minute walk from the Lavin train station.
Getting there by car
OPTION 1: You drive to Klosters and take the Vereina car transporter to Sagliains that will cost you CHF 33.-. That’s the fastest way, but not by much (2h - 2 1/2h from Zurich). We recommend the next option.
OPTION 2: You drive over the Flüela pass. It takes about 20min longer but you'll be rewarded by the beautiful landscape.
There are a couple of parking spaces right in front of the hotel and a few more at the Lavin train station (10 min walking).
Overnight stay
We've reserved rooms for everyone either in the hotel or close by in the village. Check-in will be possible from 2pm at Hotel Piz Linard, where you'll receive more information about your lodging. The rooms will cost between 60 and 90 CHF per person.
Check-out time is 11am on Sunday.
Dress code
With Lavin situated at 1432 meters, there's always the possibility of cold weather as soon as the sun disappears. Of course, we're in negotiations with the higher powers to ensure this won't be a problem. But be prepared.
The aperitif and ceremony will take place in a garden, so ladies (and high-heeled gentlemen) - avoid the stilettos when you pack your shoes.
Gifts
The biggest gift is being able to enjoy this weekend with you, and we honestly don't expect anything else from anyone. Really.

Getting presents is always great, but we know how difficult it is to find wedding gifts, and how tricky it is to fit them all together in a flat, after the party is over. So we're trying something else:
We're planning a first long trip with our small family next year, and thought that if you'd like to give us something to carry with us on our journey, a contribution to this trip would be the best gift. We'll put a box somewhere in the dining hall, and we'd like you to feel free to drop anything into it (a letter, a coin or an item for our survival kit).
Kids
We decided that this is going to be a grown up party.
